Let me introduce myself

 From now on I will be in charge of the pixels around here, you can call me Stylus Rat, while I'm new to the whole game making and hentai scene, I'm not new to drawing and animation.

If you're curious, I have been an animator by profession for the last 6 years, I have worked mostly on religious cartoons probably no one around here has ever seen. And since I believe in balance I think that after drawing so much "good" cartoons it's time to do some "bad" ones.

Here's a little illustration I made for the blog header, I have little experience in illustration so I hope to get better as we go along.

And here's a step by step process for anyone curious. Done in about 5 hours on Paint Tool Sai using a Yiynova MSP19.
No cool painting techniques, need to learn some.

I will be posting a few early monster concepts over the following days, so keep checking back if you are interested.

Also, any questions or feedback regarding the art side of the game are welcome.

  1. Feedback on the art is easy for me, it looks friggen fantastic. But on a different note, how'd you become an animator?

    1. I studied graphic design over ten years ago, I did that for a living for about 4 years. I enjoyed drawing and was rather decent at it.

      Eventually, a small studio landed a job too big for them and started recruiting, I applied and was from the first chosen. There I started of as background artist, after a little while I was moved to both inbetweening and background drawing, after a year since I started I was made lead animator and the rest is history.

  2. It looks great! I don't know if the design is final, but if it is, what made you settle for the current look of the heroine (which looks gothic & leathery to me)? Looking forward to seeing more!

    1. When I gave her the big ass crystal hand I thought "this bitch is no pushover", so I decided to take her into the bad ass route, and nothing conveys badassery more than leather.

      The gothic look I guess comes from me liking goth stuff in general, and seemed appropriate for the tone I plan on giving the game.

      For now I consider this design final, I want to move forward fast since there's much to do, so there's no time to iterate on a design that's already fairly successful.
